Photographed without stipe. Size and scaly stipe typical of M. procera but unusually dark colour of both cap and “scales” on stipe leaves room for doubt. Smell is of warm milk, also similar to M. procera. Very large, chocolate brown scales on cap fell off immediately. Spore print in process.
Identification help required. Is this just a morphological variation?
