Thanks, A friend just brought me some Gandoderma tusgae from their back yard and the high sheen and white rim reminded me of what was sitting on my workbench.

This would still be Fomitopsis pinicola if it was found in California / the west coast. The top of the cap is different than Ganoderma.

Not Gandoderma tsugae??

Is it just the dampness that has added a high sheen to the specimen? It sure has the look of Gandoderma tsugae if it was found in Was, Or or California.
