is very high and mostly recessed fluorescent: makes the true colors difficult to obtain when using only available light as I was.

Amanita vaginata is European.

That’s a very dark stem on that specimen. It make me wonder even more about the true color of the images from inside(?) the World Forestry Center. I don’t think this can be the European species vaginata.
