Recognized by sight: this one is not fitting neatly anywhere…it’s NOT a formosus with this stocky form…but does have the slight pinkish cap cast of a roseocanus, and the thin margin of a cascadensis, as well as the stocky form found in both of them. The hymenium color could go either way, too…cascadensis is not always pale (almost white in a photo) but this orange hymenium isn’t a great match for roseocanus, either.
Patrice Bensen led me to this patch, and as a well-experienced local collector, she thought that it was something different…
