Recognized by sight: This white tricholoma was fresh and buried deep in conifer soil. its cap was mostly white, with a dull yellow tan peeking through. All other parts white, with no bruising. Gills were typical trich. Odor was meally and taste bitter.Stipe on several seemed to curve off at base. No KOH reaction.

the problem im having with subresplendens is that Kuo says stains blue, and more than that, the taste was definitely bitter (he makes no mention of this) Otherwise looks same as you stated. Anything about it that you recognize that stands out?
