Recognized by sight: Thought that if i attach a lichen name, Jason and his crew will help me out with this. The texture was hard jelly like. It was a bright purple, and i cant say for certain what tree it was on. A lot of locust in the area… The second picture is at 40 X. and there is a 400X of a crush mount.

Hazmat was right! I cant just go bringing bird shit into my house, and checking it out with the scope. If you guys both think thats reasonable.. i’ll let this one go. I just googled poke berries Noah, strangely enough they were all over the park! Your new icon should be a Sherlock Holmes costume.

I don’t see any algae in the crush mount, or even anything resembling hyphae for that matter. I’ve certainly never seen anything like this. Are you absolutely certain this isn’t a bird dropping! :)
