Observation 568: Amanita gemmata (Fr.) Bertill.
When: 2006-07-15
No herbarium specimen

Notes: We saw over a dozen fruiting bodies localized in one area about the size of an average home. It was a hot day in the summer and only one other gilled mushroom, a Russula, was spotted all day. The trees were all Doug-fir and most of them were small, less than 6 inches in diameter.
