Observation 57537: Coprinopsis lagopus (Fr. : Fr.) Redhead, Vilgalys & Moncalvo
When: 2010-10-28
No herbarium specimen

Notes: I think this fungi could be Mycena.sp, but I have back in April of 2008 loaded an image that has yet to be named.(8176) that is very similar..
The cap of the large specimen in this group, was about 45mm across and the smaller unopened fungi were about 5mm or less (across)… See image,(f).
The white stems, I originally thought were from lack of daylifght till I checked the image (8176). Image ( c ) shows how the fungi were growing from under the log.
The fungi were found growing outwards from beneath this large felled log. Fortunately I was able to prize the log over and display the fungi that were hidden. The small undeveloped fungi I believe to be immature growths of the same species.
