Notes: One of the biggest mushrooms I have ever seen. Note I have a size 13 foot.

Recognized by sight: The black mottling at the edge of the cap in the second photo, the robust WHITE, non-scrobiculate stipe, and the reddening gills, as well as the enormous size all suggest one of the rank Russula. Keep an eye out for chanterelles in the area!

From the age it is very hard to tell that this is even Lactarius. What features did you use in the ID?
