Rowan Co., NC, USA

Found in scattered groups, growing from soil, throughout mixed forest.

Pileus:
6.5cm broad, convex to nearly flat in age, white with red-brown fibrils or hairs, concentrated in center spreading out towards margin, dry.
Flesh white and bruising reddish with hints of brown when cut. Not strongly bruising.

Lamellae: Free, close or crowded, pink when young, white, then turning brownish in age.

Stipe:
6.5-7cm long, .75cm wide, white, staining red, smooth, white superior membranous partial veil remnants, slightly enlarging at base, some have small bulbous base.

Smell:
Syrup-like (like the kind you put on your waffles)

Spore print color:
Dark Brown

Thought to be an Agaricus species.
