Notes: In Zone 24 under red and white pine with a sparse understory of paper birch, sugar maple, and Balsam fir.
Definitely a cort (when examined closely, cortina remnants on upper stipe). Possibly the same late-fruiting species recently seen in Zone 56 under predominantly Balsam fir, if it’s a broad-spectrum conifer associate or a fir associate particularly.
