Notes: Gregorius on pathside in leaf litter, common.

Cap conical to bell-shaped when young, growing to convex with slight umbo, to nearly flat with an undulate margin when mature. Cap vivid red at center to yellowish red towards the margin, distinctly viscid, 15-43mm across. Context bright yellow to orange.

Gills white, unequal, medium-close, thick, free. Spore print white.

Stipe neon yellow to yellow-orange, fibrous, hollow, 4-7mm thick, 4.5-8.5 cm long, viscid, equal, ring absent.

Cap, stipe, and gills easily bruising, turning black after about 30 minutes.
