Notes: In Australia there are two species – Pycnoporus coccineus and Pycnoporus sanguineus. These are more likely to be P. coccineus. The two can look very similar sometimes but P. sanguineus tends to grow in the tropics and is usually smaller, thinner fleshed and darker (more red) than P. coccineus.
