Recognized by sight: Looks like a cort, but it has a persistent ring. Also the cap looks right. However, it is bigger than I’m used to. Spore print checks out.

It was right around 5". Now that you point it out the frostiness is distinctive.

Looks like C. caperatus.

It has a wrinkled cap with a little “frostiness” on top and an annulus. How big was it? I often find them with caps up to 5" or so.
