of where Agaricales sensu lato is the best of all possible choices. There is no substrate, spore color, dimensions or microcharacters recorded. Gymnopus has the tendency to do for mushroom naming what its predecessor Collybia did for decades prior: denote a white-spored, saprobic, veil-less, generally unremarkable agaric of terrestrial or lignicolous habit. There are many, many genera that fit that description, of which Gymnopus is (occasionally) one, so many that until or unless a specimen is recovered which corresponds to this observation, calling it an agaric is about the best we can do.
