Observation 59008: Daedaleopsis J. Schröt.
When: 2010-11-16
No herbarium specimen

This 8 inch, old, dried up woody shelf was found on a Black locust stump. The brown underside had a maze-gill pattern. There was a 2 × 3″ orangish crust in one area, that also had a maze-gill pattern. There were also scattered white patches that were probably parasitic fungi.

I think the orange crust is a separate fungus from the shelf but have no idea what it could be. Any ideas?
