Observation 59052: Cladonia peziziformis (With.) J.R. Laundon
When: 2010-11-06
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: First time seeing this in Kansas. Only kind I’ve seen with white fruit bodies. Found under Eastern Red Cedar trees.
I’m horribly unfamiliar with lichen species so any help here is great!
At a distance all I saw was large circles (tire-sized?) of the folios looking fungi…as I got closer the details of the stems and fruit bodies showed.
Can collect more if anyone needs samples. Will be sending some off to KU.
