Observation 59105: Coprinellus P. Karst.

When: 2010-11-17

Collection location: San Mateo, California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Tom (LanLord)

No specimen available

Looked a little like Coprinellus micaceous but the cap and gills didn’t liquefy.

The stem was very fragile.

the lack of liquifying cap/gills had me pointing elsewhere.
The texture was also much softer and more fragile than any C. micaceous that I have found elsewhere. But I supposed that could simply be genetic variation.
