Observation 59234: Pleurotus pulmonarius (Fr.) Quél.

When: 2009-07-19

Collection location: Long Hunter State Park, Davidson Co., Tennessee, USA [Click for map]

Who: Brian Adamo (adamo588)

No specimen available

These were found growing from the base of a hickory stump. At the time, I didn’t know about taking spore prints and such, so any i.d. will have to be visual. The flesh and smell did seen to be similar to Oyster mushrooms. Could this be some kind of unusual form of Pleurotus ostreatus?
