what I found in Tomales Bay and what you found in Florence (altho I do believe that both of our obsies are the same species of mushroom) is not T. subdendrophora, despite their superficial resemblence to it…with those dark spots on a smoothish white cap surface and that teeny tiny stipe. Not a lot of photos (nor descriptions) of this critter out there…
