Very common on Alnus rubra, Red Alder; uncommon elsewhere.

Recognized by sight: Seems very different from the AU and NZ form. This Pacific NorthWest species was described as Panellus longiquus ssp. pacificus, but the subspecies has not yet been transferred to Pleurotopsis.
