Observation 60323: Cortinarius scaurus (Fr.: Fr.) Fr.

When: 2010-12-03

Collection location: Tomales Bay State Park, Marin Co., California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Ron Pastorino (Ronpast)

No specimen available

These were not in great shape and I brought them to the fair without doing any workup on them. They were labeled as such at the display table during the fair.
I believe Dimitar ID’d them but not sure of the confidence level as many of the identification tags are pre-printed.

I saw this collection ta the fair. I was somewhat broken, but it really seemed like one of the members of the C. scaurus complex when I saw it in my hand. Although that from the picture this is less obvious. The pileus was more hydrophanous when I saw it.
