Observation 60560: Lactifluus rugatus (Kühner & Romagn.) Verbeken
When: 2010-11-21
No herbarium specimen
0 Sequences

Notes:
This species is a double of Lactarius volemus, with which it is very often confused. It differs by having more distant gills, a pleasant (though not very strong) smell (characterized by Marchand as “of artichoke”), and latex drying light reddish-brown on the gills. The cap appears duller brownish- or orangish-red than that of L. volemus and is usually wrinkled at the margin.
