Rowan Co., NC
USA

Found alone, growing from soil (or possibly from buried wood), in mixed, predominantly, hardwood forest.

Trees: from closest to furthest
Beech, Tulip Poplar, Gumball, Virginia Pine

Pileus:
1.3cm broad, convex, smooth
Orange with some brownish hues (I really hate describing colors)
Margin very faintly striate

Lamellae:
Adnate, subdistant, light creamy orange

Stipe:
4.3cm long, .1-.2cm wide, smooth, equal, solid
Creamy with orange to orange-brown hues throughout

Spore Print:
Cinnamon-brown

I really don’t know what this is so any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful.

Cap Cuticle, Cheilocystidia, and spores.

These aren’t the greatest cuts in the world but I supposed they’ll do…

I think you’re correct with the Tubaria suggestion.

but the rather distant and broadly attached gills isn’t a typical character of Bolbitiacea (Bolbitius, Conocybe, Agrocybe). Tubaria furfuracea, maybe?
