Notes: At about 1200’ elevation in knobcone pine/mixed evergreen forest. Always in same place every year—grows in a linear grouping, not clumping. Largest as big as my hand. Surface not sticky, not staining yellow when rubbed. Flesh not staining red when cut. Ring quite sturdy, felty. No scales on stalk. Very beautiful.
