These were growing on a bank by a trail with live oaks nearby. The caps were the only part above ground and one of them did exude some white milky liquid. The caps were about 4.3 cm across, inrolled, rather gnarly, and slightly viscid. The stems were about 2.5cm X 1.5cm. Couldn’t get a spore print but found some medium sized spores that were almost round and with low warts. The initial odor was not strong but did intensify after a couple of hours…not exactly pleasant. The taste seemed slightly acrid.
They seem to almost fit the descriptions for Arcangeliella variegata but the gills may be a bit too developed.
