habitat for this was on the soil, partially buried. Not growing on wood. It is much firmer than exidia. And yes it is hollow. Thanks for the lead there, Darvin the mykologia arcticle cited points this way…

Were these under ground and maybe something like Genea compacta or possibly on wood and gelatinous as in an Exidia? The front one looks cut with a hollow interior. Got more photos?
