No herbarium specimen

Notes: This household fungus is common on bathroom floors, kitchen counters and water stained carpets. Anyplace where a water leak occurs, it can get a start and grow.

I did not see the specimen because photos were sent by email for identification. The fungus was growing in a basement and photographed by Margaret Kearns. Permission was obtained from Margaret by Russ Cohen to post the photos on this site.
