Observation 62100: Clitocybe rivulosa (Pers.) P. Kumm.
When: 2011-01-07
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: Decided to use the what appears to be the accepted North American ssp. name for Clitocybe dealbata.
These were growing in an open semi-grassy area. The caps were up to 4.5 cm across and all had the peculiar pitted surface, which may have been due to some insect that had abandoned the mushrooms for some reason. No odor was detected, which is apparently one of the distinguishing characteristics from it’s European cousin.
The spore print was white and the spores were ~ 4.5-6.0 X 3.1-4.1 microns. This agrees pretty closely with D. Gregory’s measurements.
