Notes: Found floating in flood waters of a nearby creek. The peridium was tough/ leathery and deep purple in colour.

Life raft

The last two photos show a fruitbody acting as an insect life raft, trying to escape the flood waters. I was surprised at how many insect species there were in the one puffball.
