Observation 62429: Aspropaxillus giganteus (Sowerby) Kühner & Maire

These were very large – at least 12" Way off the trail.

Clitocybes with the chalky-white caps that I find in PA turn out to be C. robusta. This type has a pungent odor (sometimes described as rancid) and a yellow spore print (best viewed on white background).
