P. cinctulus is the preferred synonym for P. subbalteatus these days, and P. papilionaceus is the current name for P. campanulatus.

The weather even in Northern CA is pretty moderate, so we don’t really get freezes that put an end to the fruiting season… Just occasional cold snaps or dry spells which tend to slow things down. So it isn’t particularly unusual to see Panaeolus this time of year.

Usually find these growing alongside P. subbalteatus and P.campulinatus also in June to August up here in WA. This weather is crazy this season——-early fruiting for you down in Cali? or do these usually fruit for you guys this time of year?
