this was a bit of a head scratcher. we were under the assumption that the hymenial layer was the less intensely orange resupinate portion, but could find no spore bearing structures (or spores for that matter) to confirm.

The micrograph looks like tuffs of hyphae and it has the correct look for Piloderma with the granular encrustations on it.
