Observation 62831: Galerina Earle

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Have been collecting and monitoring this spot (during winter months) for 3 seasons. Growing from Sphagnum moss. Stems bluish/purple upon picking at base. CAP: round, orange or brown-maturing to buff tan color with age. Furry base with visibly attached hyphae. Minute white hairs upon stalk-continuing to the gills. Spore print: Rusty Brown.

1-4cm stalk. 1-2cm cap. Thickening base.

Previously thought this to be Conocybe cyanopus.

This is one I’d like to get under the scope. With sphagnum it could be G. tibiicystis.
