Observation 6294: Cortinarius vanduzerensis A.H. Sm. & Trappe

When: 2008-02-04

Collection location: Salt Point State Park, Sonoma Co., California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Debbie Viess (amanitarita)

No specimen available

Notes:
One lone gorgeous fruit body. Note last rays of sun refracted in thick slime coat on top of cap! Shot in natural light only…

Purple coloration of stipe apparent; also note brown tones on lower stipe, and typical and picturesque cracking. One of the few corts that is easy to ID. Raise a glass of whatever to vanduzerensis!
