Observation 62963: Laccaria Berk. & Broome
When: 2011-01-30
No herbarium specimen

Notes: I know’s it’s old but times are tough!

Growing up from a mossy spot, pine tree plantation. Lots of Laccaria found over the late fall into winter.

The stem is squat, twisting, depressed, fibrous. Basal mycelium present and white-ish. Maybe too old to tell if it was purple.

Gills showings lilac.

Maybe Laccaria bicolor based on the purple in the gills and the lightly scaly cap surface. The stem is wider for this observation than that of bicolor or laccata.
