At first thought was a false morel, now I’m not so sure.
If anyone has any information concerning Morchella species in India and their growth habits, please let me know!

the second link you provided takes me to content which is ‘restricted to subscribers’. Thanks for the preview, I should be able to go on this for now. I’ll also have a few weeks of research time before I even have a chance to go hunting anyways.

Although I am in an entirely different state, that document might be useful. As far as I know the Himalayas are much cooler than where I am (the hunting is done in the Western Ghats).

It might help narrow things down.
I would suspect that it would be the same or similar to that of the growth habits of Morchella sp else ware,
as far as ID we don’t even have that figured out here in North America….
