I thought it’d be nice for these observations to be search-able under both names, the name can be changed when a new one is made more official.

I jumped the gun earlier, you are correct that velosa does not have the annulus, although it can have a defined ring, it will not have a “skirt.”

I thought it was velosa at first, till I saw the annulus. I’m correct in thinking velosa won’t have one? Otherwise, it seems to match the description for calyptroderma as far as I can tell and looks close to the one specimen I saw in person (63675) the day before. Thanks for the help everyone.

the stalk was shaggy I would have called it velosa, but I guess calyptroderma has my vote…that does seem an interesting color for the spring form though
