Observation 63753: Deconica (W.G. Sm.) P. Karst.
When: 2011-02-20
Who: Byrain
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: Found growing from under oak duff in grass under an oak tree, there was likely wood debris somewhere under there, but I am not sure. The spore print is brown/purple and I am saving them and drying specimens for when microscopy can be done.

The first picture was taken at the location, but as the rest of that set is quite unsatisfactory I took more this morning (2/21/11) which the rest of the pictures are from. The specimens were stored in the fridge overnight.

Proposed Names

57% (1)
Recognized by sight: General appearance, hygrophanous cap, brown/purple spore color.
28% (1)
Recognized by sight: Looks remarkably similar to observations 62626 & 62282, the possible growth with grass suggests against it though.
