Observation 63799: Clitocybe sclerotoidea (Morse) H.E. Bigelow

No herbarium specimen

Notes: The description matches, but I have to say I didn’t notice any “mass” of Helvella substance. I must admit that I didn’t really dig around though, I just popped them out of the moss covered ground.

My first instinct was Hebloma, but the description for Clitocybe sclerotoidea matched OK too.

I have seen this many times this month. Sometimes the mass is so big you can see it just under the moss, sometimes barely any is there.
