but I forgot about that this morning. Sooo…, Here is what I found in the link you provided. “Biscogniauxia atropunctata (Schwein.) Pouzar, Česká Mykol.
33: 216 (1979) var. atropunctata” I don’t fully understand this naming.
Does the name include the varietal designation? and from the comma after Pouzar until var. – What’s with that?

Yep, it’s an asco note the black peripetheses (whence atropunctata)

I think the correct name is Biscogniauxia atropunctata, but MO doesn’t recognize it.

Fungus or Lichen?

I don’t know how to classify this guy – it looks like some ascomycetes, but some lichens are similarly looking too. I don’t know if MO deals with lichens – I have quite a few needing IDs.
