Young fruiting bodies viscid on both the cap and the stipe, making them difficult to handle. Caps yellow aging whitish with a yellow tinge near the margin and on the disc and becoming translucent-striate. Gills pallid when young, becoming pinkish, then fading back to pallid. Gills never bright purple. Stipe yellow aging whitish translucent, cartilaginous and usually curved.
