Observation 64336: Tremella aurantia Schwein.

When: 2011-03-12

Collection location: Millersylvania State Park, Thurston Co., Washington, USA [Click for map]

Who: Drew Henderson (Hendre17)

No specimen available

Notes:
Found fruiting from the forest floor on a stick buried in the Sphagnum moss.

Temp- mid 50’s and raining the last 24 hrs.

Rather large specimen- about 4cm

I usually find T. aurantia fruiting from living hardwoods on the actual tree bark- fun and surprising to find this one on the ground today :)
