Observation 64505: Phaeolus (Pat.) Pat.
When: 2011-03-19
No herbarium specimen

Notes: I could not find any spores under the microscope, the whole fungus consists of long closely bundled parallel hyaline hyphae that are not septate and lack clamp connections, the fruit body is extremely cartilaginous and almost woody, it is fruiting at the base of a dying Podocarpus totara in leaf litter and is attached to the substrate by thick rhizomorphs.
