Observation 65298: Lactarius volemus (Fr.) Fr.

When: 2010-08-08

Collection location: Rock Creek Regional Park, Montgomery Co., Maryland, USA [Click for map]

Who: Martin Livezey (MLivezey)

No specimen available

Notes:
It looks like an oyster -or does it? , The orange cap has me confused. It was growing underneath a rock, not on wood, on a very steep bank – you can see the mycelium behind the cap. There was a lot of moss, amanitas, russulas, boletes, Black trumpets, everything everywhere.
