This is further details on the obs. by CureCat :
The first micro-shot is of the cap surface at 400x in Meltzer’s. The cap surface is hymeniform, without gelatin or pileocystidia.
The second micro-shot is of the gill edge at 400x in Meltzer’s. The cheilocystidia are clavate and thick. There were no pleurocystidia obs., and 4 spored basidia were obs. No reactions to reagent obs. in all tissues.
The third micro-shot is of the stipe surface at 400x in KOH. The caulocystidia are cylidrical to clavate, some were multi-septate.
The forth micro-shot is of spores on the stipe apex at 1000x in KOH. The spores are ellipsoid, smooth, tan. The germ pore is very small, and uncertain on some. The apr. ave. size is 8 × 5 um.
Putting this together, with the veil on the stipe that goes away easily, it seems to best match Pholiotina exannulata in Flora Agaricina Neerlandica vol. 6.

see three instances of this. seems messy to have pertinent data on one specimen be split between two observations. Alan and I would have run into the same problem with our collections from Strawberry Canyon had the accompanying through-the-eyepiece micrographs taken on his point-and-shoot ever surfaced. I just figured one of us would email the other all the important bits to keep everything under one URL.
I can’t add photos and obs. details to an obs. created by CureCat. She owns the obs., so only she can edit it.
I’ve done this before in the past… as a way of getting the micro-details together for someone else’s obs.
