The first micro-shot is of the cap surface at 400x in Meltzer’s. The surface is hymeniform without gelatin or pileocystidia.

The second micro-shot is of the gill edge at 400x in Meltzer’s (and not very good…). The cheilocystidia are lageniform. No pleurocystidia were obs., 4-spored basidia were obs, but with some possible 2-spored basidia. No reactions to reagents were obs.

The third micro-shot is spores from the stipe apex at 1000x in KOH. The spores are ellipsoid, smooth, and with a clear germ pore on all. The apr. ave. size in 11 × 5.5 um.

Putting this together with Flora Agaricina Neerlandica vol. 6, matches well with Pholiotina vexans.
