Observation 65936: Leptogium burnetiae C.W. Dodge
When: 2011-03-24
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: Growing on mossy steep outcrop in northern valley with several other Leptogium and Phaeophyscia hispidula.

Apparently I’m still unqualified to distinguish L. saturninum and L. burnetiae. Here’s what’s written:

L. burnetiae: thallus bluish, isidia cylindrical and coralloid and patchy
L. saturninum: thallus olivaceous to charcoal, isidia granular and evenly distributed

The isidia are granular, but they are also clearly clumped, and the thallus looks a bit bluish-gray to me.
