Notes: I always thought these were a montane species, and found in the spring. That was the only place I had heard about these.
But they were found a few weeks ago at Salt Point, and again here. They are found in more places in CA I guess, and more times of the year.
Nice pastel purple in the gills, and viscid yellow caps. These were found on a very rotten d. fir log, on the wood, where the bark had rotted away.
