Observation 66303: Polyporales sensu lato
When: 2011-02-24
No herbarium specimen

Notes: These elongated fan shaped fungi were found on a dead branch in a wet area of the eucalytus forest. I have loaded two images. It was very difficult to get a good sharp image due to the low light and the colour of the fungi against a similar background. The fungi was only 2-3mm in width and 4-5mm in length.

Thanks for you comment Danny. Always appreciated. Will do a closer macro next time. Have some more images to load as soon as time permits. Chow, kk

I retract my earlier suggestion, at least in part. These look a bit more like old, withered polypores than Hydnopolyporus. Ultimately, I think we’d need a closer look to say for certain.
